J. Cole, Maybach Music, Cris Cab, Flux Pavilion And A Steve Aoki Remix To Keep Me Going Until Tomorrow

I've got five classes to suffer through tomorrow and then I'm one step closer to spring break. In other news, Taylor Allderice is exactly what I was looking for in Wiz's new mixtape: slow, relaxing songs with slow, relaxing beats. The interview bits at the end of the tracks are a little bit annoying, but I'd take this over Rolling Papers any day of the week.

First up are the visuals for J. Cole's single "Nobody's Perfect" from Cole World: The Sideline Story which features Missy Elliot. It's nice to see J. Cole in a chill music video and it's nice to see Missy Elliot in anything at all. Enjoy.

J. Cole - "Nobody's Perfect (Ft. Missy Elliot)"

The DMV's own Wale just released the music video for the title track of his most recent album Ambition. Rick Ross, Meek Mill and Wale need to make more songs together... Enjoy.

Wale -"Ambition (Ft. Meek Mill & Rick Ross)

Cris Cab is a familiar name to SBT and he's back with a music video for one of the best songs from his most recent mixtape/album Echo Boom. Cris really solidifies himself as a musical presence with his latest mixtape, and this music video simply highlights a bright point from said mixtape/album. Download link for Echo Boom is here. Enjoy.

Cris Cab - "Angels & Demons"

New Flux Pavilion featuring Example. Not much else needs to be said about this absurd track. Enjoy.

Flux Pavilion - "Daydreamer (Ft. Example)"

Last but not least is a remix to a Steve Aoki track that I just could not pass up. Download here and enjoy.

Logic, Collin McLoughlin, Wiz Khalifa, Sex Ray Vision And More On A Rather Boring Wednesday

Today I sat around and drew on a baseball with a bunch of different colored pens. Making this post will be the most useful/productive thing I will have done all day.

We'll start off with the DMV's very own Logic. I posted the visuals for Logic's newest track "Numbers" about a week ago and two days ago the .mp3 was made available through ThisSongIsSick. Here it is for your downloadable pleasure. Enjoy.

Logic - "Numbers"

New Collin McLoughlin is always acceptable, wherever and whenever he delivers it. Today we have a cover of Lana Del Ray's "Video Games" which blows me away, which is the norm with most McLoughlin tracks. Enjoy.

Collin McLoughlin - "Video Games"

I wasn't able to download Wiz Khalifa's Taylor Allderice when it got released two days ago because every other hip-hop head and their grandmother decided to download it at the exact same time and conveniently crash Datpiff. They finally got themselves back up and running this morning and I was able to download the new mixtape this afternoon. Taylor Allderice marks a return to the old-school Wiz so many of us have been waiting for since his abomination Rolling Papers was released. Download here and enjoy.

This next Sex Ray Vision track is just short of two weeks old but it deserves a spot on todays list. Sex Ray Vision continues to prove just how excellent they are with this fiery electro remix of The Dirty South & Those Usual Suspects' track "Walking Alone," which features Erik Hecht. Don't scroll by without downloading this track - it's a dirty remix from an even dirtier group. Enjoy.

Three final tracks for the "And More" section. One is a live mashup, another is the debut track from the bronze medalist from "The X Factor," the third is a remix I found while derping around on SoundCloud. Enjoy.

Dub Tech - NOS (Live Mashup)

Chris Rene - "Young Homie"

Maroon 5 - "Moves Like Jagger (Share Remix)"

Mac Miller, Kanye West, David Guetta, YMCMB And More For Thursday The Eighth

Six songs for today's post. For some reason, my school has decided that we should be let out for Spring Break on the 21st of March and only give the students ten days off. Probably just going to bum around for the last week of classes before heading to Florida for a trip with the family. Gotta love warm weather. On another note, the format of longer posts such as these is changing. I will write a short blurb about each major track and the minor tracks will receive a one sentence description with a numerical rating out of ten. Now listen and be blown away.

First up are two tracks from Mac Miller that I missed during my two month hiatus. Both "Loud" and "Got You" are from Mac's upcoming mixtape Macadelic, which, if these two songs are any indication of the rest of the project, will be awesome. Download and enjoy.

Mac Miller - "Loud"

Mac Miller - "Got You"

Next up is a twenty five minute mashup of Kanye West's best songs and then some. This might be the most impressive mashup of any Kanye West song/s of all time. I tip my hat to you, Justenvision. Well played sir. Shout out to occasional SBT contributor Woodside for showing me this track. Enjoy the madness.

A David Guetta and Nicky Romeo collaboration has been rumored for some time now and it would appear the track has surfaced to the tune of over twenty seven and a half thousand hits on SoundCloud in its first twelve hours. This track is not available for download (yet) and I'll update if I can find a decent download link. Until then, listen in the SoundCloud player and enjoy two masters at work.

I'm sort of lying when I say this next track is from YMCMB, but it contains partial truth. An artist by the name of Stratus has remixed Lil' Wayne's "She Will" which features Drake and turned it into one of the most original drumstep tracks I have ever heard. Very catchy new drum line and dubstep is always appreciated on all levels. Download and enjoy.

Drake - "She Will (Ft. Lil Wayne) (Stratus Remix)"

Chill and relaxing with excellent flow. Two thumbs up. 8.5/10

Grynch "I'm Good (Ft. Sol)"

Powerful dubstep with some nice whomp-whomps thrown in there. 6.5/10

Figure - "Mission Of Destruction"

Logic and Wiz Khalifa For The Second Day Back

I've got two tracks for the second day back from my hiatus. First up is a new track from the DMV's very own Logic. Entitled "Numbers" and directed by GRVTY, Logic is really stepping up and showing what he's capable of. Logic reminds me of the pre-Thank Me Later Drake, which is refreshing. Here's to hoping Logic stays the same no matter if his crowd is 2,000 or 2,000,000. Enjoy.

Logic - "Numbers"

Second is a Wiz Khalifa track featuring Fashawn. These two stoners throw down some serious vocals over a clean beat. Nothing fancy about this track. Keep on the lookout for Wiz's new mixtape Taylor Allderice. Enjoy.

Wiz Khalifa - Mt. Money (Ft. Fashawn)

It's Been A While...

As you probably have noticed, I haven't posted on SBT in a while. And by a while I mean two months. This is in large part due to my being cast in a leading role in a production of Anything Goes. Understanding the time commitment the musical would be, I made the executive decision to take some time off from posting in order to stay on top of my work. Here's a list of a few of the things I did in my two months off:
  • Had an awesome time in Anything Goes and became one with the gypsy in me
  • Watched every episode of Smallville (218 total episodes)
  • Watched season six of Dexter in one weekend
  • Defriended over 200 people on Facebook
  • Acted like a complete goon
  • Slept
With all the personal stuff out of the way, let's get down to the music. In the two months I've been gone, a lot of new music has been released which I won't cover on SBT. I'm going to pick up sort of where I left off, talking about The Weeknd. Abel Tesfaye hasn't had any releases since Echoes Of Silence, but several other musicians have put their own unique blends on The Weeknd's already unique sound. Two full mixtapes of Weeknd remixes came out within two weeks of one another: Chi Duly's Balloons of Haus and Sango's More Balloons. Both feature excellent remixes of fantastic Weeknd songs and both are must downloads in my book. Enjoy.

Download Chi Duly's Balloons of Haus here.
Download Sango's More Balloons here.

Next are the visuals for Hi-Rez's "X-Problems" which features QuESt. Fairly standard Hi-Rez flow and QuESt adds a nice bit of flavor to the song. Enjoy.

Hi-Rez - "X-Problems (Ft. QuESt)"

Finally, one of our featured artists at Sam's Bar Frank Fiasko recently produced for and is featured on an album by a new artist named Mr. Agee. Show the gents some love and get the download count headed in the upward direction.

Good to be back.

Flith in Paris

So this is a bit awkward... I haven't posted in a month. I of course have an excuse, but no one wants to hear it. I'm in exam season, so while my posting will be regular, I'm only going to put up one or two songs each day. Today's item is a nice collaboration between 5 & A Dime and Basic Physics. They bring Kanye and Jay-Z to a whole new level of awesome, by throwing in some catchy synths and vocals. Its great to see the styles of these two mashup artists fusing so flawlessly. Enjoy.
